CONSORCIO LIFE SEACAN

Life Seacan Kick-Off

BIOGROUP   16/10/2015

The life project SEACAN has started up last week with the kickoff meeting at Cetaqua Santiago.
The aim of the project is to reduce the pressure of fish canneries on the marine environment with novel effluent treatment and ecosystem monitoring.

The project will use two technologies based on biofilm processes for the treatment of waste water from the fish canning industries. These technologies will improve the quality of water discharged and thus minimize its impact on the marine ecosystem.

The partners are: Cetaqua Santiago (coordinator), cetaqua Barcelona, University of Vigo and University of Santiago de Compostela (Ass. Prof. Anuska Mosquera and Dr. Ángeles Val). Anfaco-Cecopesca will aslo colaborate in this proyect.
SEACAN is a LIFE project and it will have a duration of 3 years.
